First, the winner of the dark blue bundle is:
Vicki B, who said, "My favorite Christmas movie is "Borrowed Hearts" with Roma Downey." Which I admit, is a movie I've never heard of. I'll have to check it out! Congrats, Vicki! I've sent you an email.
Before I cleaned out my fabric, if you'd asked what colors I had the least of in my stash, I would have said orange, yellow and purple.
I was right about orange and yellow, but apparently not about purple.
To enter to win the purple bundle, simply leave a comment telling me what the #1 thing is that draws you back to a quilting blog (gorgeous images, witty writing, tutorials, free stuff, etc.). The giveaway will remain open until 11:59 EST tonight (December 10th). I'll post the winner's name tomorrow, along with the brown bundle photo and question.
Good luck!
p.s. If you're wondering what this post is about, visit my original post here. And then stop by tomorrow for the purple giveaway!
p.p.s. Did you notice my numbered comments? Thank you so much, Marelize, for the link you sent...no more counting for me!

Usually I go to blogs that have catchy titles. The word SCRAPS gets me every time -- so much fun to see what others do with them!
ReplyDeleteI usually return to a blog if they post a project I'm interested in. Freebies are a big thing too. It's one of the reasons I keep returning to yours since you've been giving away so much fabric. I also like to return to blogs that are doing something that I'm doing like the hexie flowers, DJ blocks, swaps, etc.
ReplyDeleteI like to find ideas and inspirations from others, so I suppose the pictures are the one thing that draws me 1st. I love tutorials too...
ReplyDeleteps. You're welcome Ellie ♥
Great pictures and easy to read text. There are some blogs I read that the writing is so slanted I can't even read it. Makes my head hurt. I also like to see fun tutorials, especially for things like bags or gift items.
ReplyDeleteTudo isso e mais um pouco de Papel Inglês,minha paixão.
ReplyDeleteObrigada.
Feliz Natal!

I will go back for more great pictures, tutorials and tips for sewing/quilting.
ReplyDeleteI'm always looking for inspiration, so blogs with easy-to-follow tutorials with great pics are what keeps me coming back for more. I don't have any purple in my stash so this would be a fun win...thanks for the chance!
ReplyDeleteThe designs of the projects and the blog iteself. Also good tutorials really help. THanks for the chance to win and would not mind if you forwarded me that link (I cannot get the numbers to appear in my commnets!)
ReplyDeleteHi Nati, Here is the link Marelize gave me. It also tells how to make them without the "talking bubbles" (or with a different icon instead), but since I"d had trouble in the past, I decided not to mess with it and just followed the basic instructions. Hope it helps you too!
DeleteI love purple! My winter jacket is purple and I just bought a cashmere scarf (but gave it to my sister) which was purple and grey. So soft.
ReplyDelete#1 thing that draws me to a blog - I read a little bit and if the first or secnd photo grabs my attentions and I am hooked I will join!
I like blogs to get ideas for future projects. Tutorials, great pictures, blogs which are participating in blog hops, quick and easy projects are just a few more reasons I continue to visit some blogs over and over.
ReplyDeleteI only have a few purples in my stash (seriously, I just went to count and only have 3), so I'd love to add more to it.
Thank you for the giveaway!
I love blogs with a good mix of tutorials, projects and pictures! and of course giveaways!
ReplyDeleteI'm right there with Gill. I love finding a new tutorial for a project that I really want to make. Having lots of photos is a good thing with the tutorials.
ReplyDeleteI have two friends who are purple crazy so I can always use more purple.
So who actually won the dark blue? The thing that draws me back to quilting blogs is pictures (works in progress, finished quilts, vacation pictures, etc.). Doesn't matter what the pictures are of, as long as they have at least a short explanation underneath.
ReplyDeleteI look for relaxed chatty writing, projects and tutorials. I like to be inspired not to copy but to adapt. Giveaways are fun but not a priority. Lots of photos are really good.
ReplyDeleteI look for all of that! I do like one that teachs me things, likes the same things I do, and keeps my attention! Giveaways don't hurt either!

I think tutorials and free patterns are great, but I also love to see pictures of finished quilts. So much inspiration in this!
ReplyDeleteShow me the picture! I'm a visual/ hands on learner so even if you don't have a tutorial I want pictures!
ReplyDeleteGood tutorials are #1 for me (with great pictures). Thanks.
ReplyDeleteI think its a combination of things. I like a blog which is interesting to read, funny/amusing, giveaways are fun and tutorials are nice, particularly on a different method or topic. The general feel of a blog is important, you want to feel like its a sort of chat among friends I think!
ReplyDeleteFrequent posts keep me coming back (mostly because I follow a lot of blogs via blogger, so they're all there for me to read all they have to do is have a fresh post so they stay in my feed).
ReplyDeleteI like a combination, too! For me, clear pictures are so helpful and I enjoy a good tutorial. But I guess I want to be inspired--by what you make, your color choices, your designs, and your attitude towards quilting and sewing! :)
ReplyDeleteI love the photos and meeting bloggers from all over the world.
ReplyDeleteI like to see the projects the blogger has completed. I get ideas of my own that way.
ReplyDeleteI love seeing a project from start to finish with some insight into how the decisions were made along the way; what challenges were faced and how they were overcome; and reflections on how things could have been done differently. I love a great tutorial that I can bookmark. and giveaways don't hurt, either :-) Thanks for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteAwesome! I just learned to number mine too! What a relief!
ReplyDeleteI like blogs with finished projects, good photos, and tutorials. Thanks for the chance!
I like blogs with great ideas. Some people are so creative. I'm one that needs a pattern or idea and I can run with it from there.

When someone makes me laugh!
ReplyDeleteI keep coming back when the personality comes across from the writer as warm, funny, genuine. Like a neighbour asking you in for a cuppa tea and a chat. Great pics are also important, you can never have too much eye fodder.
ReplyDeleteI like the projects, the little snippets into their lives and I like to learn new things. I don't know, some blogs just click for me and that is why I follow them.
ReplyDeleteI like a bit of humour in posts and lovely photos of course :)

The thing that draws me back to a quilting blog is easy projects that don't take a lot of time or fabric.
ReplyDeleteWitty writing that seems to be talking to a good friend with pictures and large easy to read letters and not too wordy. Tuts are nice too! As are freebies.
ReplyDeleteTutorials, pictures, witty writing, prizes, etc. it all combines to make me want to come back. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteWhat draws me to a quilting blog is the writing and sharing works in progress.
ReplyDeleteI am drawn to quilting blogs to see the gorgeous work being done. I love "process" blogs as I watch a project grow from nothing. Pictures are always a draw for me, but so are ideas.
ReplyDeleteFor me it photo of work that inspires me. lisaursino@msn.com
ReplyDeleteI like blogs that have tutorials, good pictures, enter blog hops and make me feel like I'm listening to a friend.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy blogs that have pictures (for inspiration), tutorials, giveaways and stories about happenings in their daily lives. It is like getting a letter from a friend and makes me feel good.
ReplyDeletethelady(at)hotmail.com
Quilt blogs that I visit often have great pictures, occasional tutorials, and are friendly and funny in their posts.
ReplyDeletethanks for the giveaway!
Naomi
The projects.
ReplyDeleteI check out quilting blogs for inspiration via photos and have followed quite a few tutorials from them. I also enjoy checking out the daily happenings in the lives of the bloggers.
ReplyDeleteI love find tutorials and what others bloggers do!
ReplyDeleteI like to see what people are making and to get inspiration. I don't have much orange in my stash either. Of course I have decided that I want to make an orange quilt.
ReplyDeletewhat draws me in is pictures
ReplyDeleteGiveaways really do draw me back to blogs but I also find that blogs are full of inspiration and new ideas. I know that photos really do make a big impression.
