  7. Since our Christmas falls in the heat of summer (South Africa) we usually spend it outdoors, by the pool, having a huge 'braai' (BBQ). So my favorite time would be the prep, the time all the woman in my family spend in the kitchen making all the salads and puddings ♥♥

  14. My favorite tradition is how we open gifts. It's one person/package at a time, with everyone giving attention to the box being opened and sharing stories behind what was given (stories about good sales or how long we've had the gift and how much we wanted to give it).

Sometimes we even break for breakfast then go back to the gifts.

  18. My favorite holiday tradition is the Scrooge box. Members of the family would make and wrap small gifts. These gifts were labeled male, female or general, and child, teen, adult, or general. The items were put in the box secretly. On gift opening day, if someone unexpectedly came, a gift was taken out for them. That night the gifts were brought to church for Baby Jesus.
