There was a time when my children were young and I was working that I didn't do much more than mend with a small project here and there. I had not quilted until I took a beginning class about 3 years ago. It wasn't until I was in my early 20's that I was getting bored with the clothes available and really took up sewing. I, like my Mom, made all my clothes for quite a few years. The quilting started when my oldest was born almost 11 years ago. Back then I tied and fumbled around trying to figure it out on my own with a very crappy sewing machine. Since then I have thoroughly enjoyed the delight of creating quilts and home decor and in the new year plan to once again delve back into sewing my own wardrobe with the help of Burda!sew.darn.quilthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13391061584764523752noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4322009663856994194.post-18953387292347506982012-12-12T10:43:18.951-05:002012-12-12T10:43:18.951-05:00I started sewing when I was 8. So, I graphed out a world map using our old encyclopedia set and asked my mom to help me figure out how to make a quilt. She is an excellent semstress, but never made quilts. She showed me a simple strip piecing method to mass produce the blocks I'd need, and a few months later, tada! world quilt. I learned a lot from making that first quilt. For example, it is important to plot out your finished size. This quilt fits a twin bed width wise, but is about 3.5 feet too long. :) lesson learned.Naomihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01308943977522452929noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4322009663856994194.post-46523041415629313582012-12-12T09:00:54.793-05:002012-12-12T09:00:54.793-05:00Hi,
