It's beginning to look a lot like...

Christmas! Complete with a mantel!

That's right, my husband finished the mantel before I finished the stockings, but this is one competition that I'm thrilled to lose! I have the quilt sandwiches for both of my boys' stockings quilted, and I'm picking up the fabric with their embroidered names hopefully Wednesday. After that, completing the stockings will be a snap! I can't wait; especially since I've got a place to hang them now.

I had a big weekend too--nothing like four hours of sewing Friday night and another three on Saturday afternoon. Check out what I finished...

Duffle bag number 1! (See original post here.)

The main print is Bella by Amanda Murphy for Blend, the pocket and handles are Sassy by Sandy Gervais for Moda, and the lining (see below) is Remix by Ann Kelle for Robert Kaufman.

I chose lime zippers to match the lining fabric.

The pattern calls for one zippered end pocket, but I put one at each end.

Ditto on the side pockets--I made two. You can never have too many pockets!

I love the zipper tabs on the pattern, giving you something to grab when you open/close the zipper. I think next time I would add a layer of batting to give them a little more "meat," although if you use home dec weight fabric for the bag (I didn't), they likely would have a little more to them.

Linking up my finished duffle to Quilt Story's Fabric Tuesday! Maybe next week Tuesday I'll be able to link up the second one...
